Everyone ... and when I say 'everyone', I mean almost EVERYONE who is 'someone' in the blogging world, which isn't to say every blogger isn't 'someone', of course ... cause after all, the blogging world isnt nearly as important as the real world, right? But anyway ...
ALMOST EVERYONE excuse me. Why does almost everyone have: a white blog?
Or maybe its just my eyes. Hence the reason mine is gray. Gray is my very favorite neutral :)
But seriously, maybe someone with a white blog can tell me. Does everyone just really like white that much, and I'm missing out on the worldwide white crush?

Ha ha! :) This made me laugh, cause I totally agree. I need some color in my life. I'm guessing people do it for simplicity? ;) I'm missing the white crush, too.
You are SO right :) I also think people like it for simplicity...it's easier on the eyes to read print on a white background...kinda like reading a book.
Gray is my favorite neutral too :)
thats so funny that you called everyone out on that. and even more funny that i just changed my blog from gray and green to white! haha. i LOVE gray. if you saw my house you would know in an instant.
The thing with web design is that a white background really does relax your eyes and a busy background distracts from the important things, ie the posts. It's the same principle with any good design on the web, not only blogs.
The colour is used to lead your eyes, from one corner to the next. This has an actual name, but I can't remember what it is called (haven't honed my web designing theory in quite some time).
Web design was one of my main subjects at varsity, so i'm not pulling this out of thin air. Hope I could have been of assistance.
Oh, and if you feel that white is toooo bright, go for a pastel colour, ie light pink or light yellow.
Hmm I never really thought about that before but you are right! It must be for some super subconscious aesthetic reason!

Okay, I like white. I have a crush on white. However, I love grey, blue and green hues, and yellow. I enjoy white simply because it's relaxing to me. :)
I wish I was better with HTML, otherwise I might have a better layout.

I think white is just easier, plus those like myself with little to no html skills probably don't know how to change it ;) Loving your gray blog my dear. Hope you had a great New year.
I choose white as the background for my contact box because it's clean, simple, and provides the best backdrop for my photos. :)

Very cute post! :) I'm guilty of having a white blog. I like it white because it doesn't distract from my photos. But, then again, I do love the grey of your blog. It is very easy on the eyes.

i like the clean, simple, modern feel of my white background. i also think it is less distracting.
gray is my favorite. i have to refrain myself from re-painting every room in my house to some sort of gray color scheme.

ha I had to laugh at this b/c I always wondered the same thing...but now MINE is white...I think i figured my blog is kind of like a canvas...so I wanted to keep it white with my color being in the header and other add ons. I know, sometimes it can be a bit boring and bright but its just so fresh and clean...I do love the grey you chose though! :-)

i like white because it's simple and not so "busy" for the eyes..colors are beautiful but they get so distracting sometimes specially when you read long texts..also, white background enhances the color of the photos, making them standout. lastly, white background looks more "pro" if you asked me..i love your gray background though so I really don't know..lol
This is hilarious! Especially because I have a white background on my blog. I think I chose white because it's like a blank canvas. Everything else stands out- plus, all colors match the color white! Good question, though. I never really thought of this!
