Sage, umber, plum, and smoke.

Oooohhh.

I read those words and got a sudden longing for fall.

Which I know is odd, because fall is here. Time flies, man. Here it is October already. Hi October! Even though you're acting like July and not October.

But dudes. I read about umber and smoke and plum, and I get this sort of hankering for real autumn. You know, with chilly winds and awesome colored leaves all over the place, and drapy sweaters, cozy moods, and that smoke smell. I sort of bond with smells. If they're yummy ones.

Sage, umber, plum, and smoke. I love it so so much. Funny how a few well-picked words can send a person into wild whimsies. :) Those are my theme colors for this fall. And it doesn't have a THING to do with Anthropologie calling their fall collection that. No sirs.

"Umber: \um-ber\ a brown earth that is darker in color than ocher and sienna because of its content of manganese and iron oxides, and is highly valued as a permanent pigment either in the raw or burnt state."

There. Doesn't it sound like a most delicious metallic brown. Its kind of like the word ombre, that hair trend going on. And its also like the word ember, and I love the word ember. This word umber has got it going on for me.

A few of the pins from my autumn inspiration Pinterest board, just colors and textures and things that remind me of all my fall fancies. 1 is from Anthropologie, I like the high-low sweater over the cute blouse and the full skirt. 2 is an owl cuff from Fossil. I LOVE owls. 3 is a big chunky sweater and boots with bunches of buckles :) 4 is deep plum nails that I'm going to copy. 5 is a good basic fall look. 6 is a gorgeous bag, from Fossil, I really like the olive green and leather. 7 is a pair of boots that someone "upcycled" with some green plush ... genius. 8 is more fun fall fashion from Fossil. I am really liking the full skirt trend. 9 is a pair of vintage pumps with gray velvet rosettes. 10 is romantic filmy lace with just the right edge from those featherrrsss :)

Reality: I have no clothes budget.
